Promenade phase to open

The next phase of the redevelopment of Edinburgh Promenade is to be officially launched.

The section between Granton and Granton Beach has been completed on schedule and an official opening ceremony is planned for June 9.

It features a "destination point" on Granton Beach that includes new paving, seating, litter bins, cycle racks and information boards.

Over the last two years, four kilometres of promenade has been constructed, which has led to an increase in walkers, cyclists and running groups.

The ten-mile Edinburgh Promenade route will not be completed for up to 30 years.
