Progress on Seafield stink

WATER bosses say they are making "significant progress" in tackling the notorious "Seafield stench" coming from a city waste treatment plant.

Scottish Water said it was now at the half-way stage of its Odour Improvement Project brought in to help address the concerns of local residents.

Senior project manager Alex McTear said: "I'm delighted that the project is progressing so well. We have made significant strides forward in the ten months since the project was officially launched by local MSP Kenny MacAskill.

"The local community has been kept up to date on the progress of the construction, as we look to tackle historic odour issues related to the Seafield waste water treatment works."

Mr MacAskill added: "I very much welcome the progress being made."
