Profile: Prof Nicholas Terry

Professor Nicholas Terry, below, the vice-principal and deputy vice-chancellor of Abertay University, has worked with the institution for the past ten years. He is also chair of the university's senior management team.

In recent years he has played a key role in efforts to attract a branch of the V&A museum to Dundee's waterfront, a project that secured almost 5 million from the Scottish Government last month.

He helped establish the Advanced Management Programme in Scotland in 1996 and is still a board director of the organisation. He has also worked on executive programmes for a host of blue-chip companies, including Ford, IBM, Lloyds, Rolls-Royce and Shell.

Prof Terry has published books on tax policy, venture capital and pensions systems. He is also co-author of the Oxford Handbook of International Financial Terms.

He is a regular contributor to seminars run by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, the Institute for Chartered Financial Analysts, and for the Institute of Directors.
