Probe launched into Perth blaze in block of flats
A POLICE probe is under way after people had to be rescued from their homes when a blaze was started deliberately in a block of flats at the weekend.
Tayside Fire and Rescue confirmed yesterday the fire in the flats in Firbank Road in Perth was being treated as suspicious.
A Tayside Police investigation is under way into the source of the blaze on Saturday night, which forced the occupants of four flats out of their homes.

Hide AdA spokesman for Tayside Fire and Rescue said: “We responded to a fire within a common close of a block of four flats at 19 Firbank Road, Letham, Perth, on Saturday night.
“On arrival, there was a well-established fire within a ground floor store room.”
