Prison officer caught with convict given jail sentence

A PRISON officer who was found naked in bed with one of Scotland’s most dangerous prisoners was tonight locked up after she was convicted of harbouring the notorious con.

Christine Robertson was found naked in bed with feared thug Jimmy Holland hours after he ran from Castle Huntly open prison on 16 March last year.

The warder - who was suspended from her post over another matter when she sheltered Holland - showed no emotion as the verdict was read out and she was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing.

Friends of Robertson, who had supported her throughout the case, broke down in tears as she was led to the cells.

A six day trial at Dundee Sheriff Court heard how Holland walked out of the jail, near Longforgan, Perthshire, around 8pm on 16 March last year.

Police found intelligence suggesting Holland was at Robertson’s address - and at 6.25am the following morning a team of ten riot and firearms officers burst their way into her flat in a quite Monifieth street.

They found the pair naked together in Robertson’s bed - the warder hiding under the covers and Holland crouching on the bed holding a kitchen knife.

Holland waved the knife at the officers - forcing them to shoot him with a Taser stun gun.

Cops investigating the case found a stash of letters sent by Holland to Robertson in a bedside table in her flat - as well as messages on her phone.

They also found Holland’s diary sitting on a bedside table in the room where the pair were found.
