Primark warns of clothes price rises

Primark has become the latest retailer to warn of rising clothing costs due to the soaring price of cotton.

The retailer said it would do "whatever it takes" to keep its prices down said George Weston, chief executive of parent company Associated British Foods. Earlier this month Next warned the spike in cotton prices could cause clothes prices to rise by up to 8 per cent.
