Price fears for oil-fired heating

Rocketing oil prices and restricted deliveries could lead to thousands of homes going without heating this winter, MPs have been told.

The government admitted the situation could become "very serious" if it snows, with homes having to wait up to four weeks for oil to be delivered. Prices have jumped from under 40p a litre to more than 70p.
