Pregnant woman cut from car

Firefighters had to cut a heavily pregnant woman out of a car after she was injured when the vehicle crashed on the B825 road at Caldercruix in North Lanarkshire.

Firefighters from Bellshill and Coatbridge were called out to the incident at 5:40pm on New Year's Day. The woman, who was in the car with a man, was given casualty care by the firefighters until ambulance staff arrived and assessed she had suspected pelvic injuries.
