Postie delivers travel guide

A HIGHLAND postie has turned travel presenter to give internet users a guided tour of his route.

Hugh McBean, from Nairn, is one of six postmen and women taking part in the Royal Mail's First Class Walking Guide, showing some of the most stunning walks across the country.

Delivering mail to 27 million addresses in the UK means posties walk about 180 million miles every year, giving them unparalleled local knowledge.

They are now sharing highlights of their own areas on a series of guides for Anglesey, Newcastle, Hereford, Belfast and Looe, as well as Nairn.

Mr McBean's walk takes in the harbour and beach and follows the river to Cawdor Castle.
