Posters target NHS hygiene

NEW posters have been launched to further encourage a culture of hand-washing in hospitals.

Health Protection Scotland wants staff and visitors to pay more heed to hand hygiene to reduce the spread of superbugs such as C.diff and MRSA.

NHS Lothian has improved its performance on hand-washing compliance in recent months, becoming one of the best health boards in Scotland.

This follows senior medical staff being threatened with disciplinary action if they didn't improve their hand-washing.

Visitors have also been warned to up their game.
