Postal votes in e-mail gaffe

ELECTION organisers have been accused of a "lack of professionalism" after printing the wrong e-mail address on a notice about the postal vote.

The electoral registration office issued a postal poll notice to all those in the Lothians that have a postal vote for the May 5 Scottish Parliament elections.

It stated an e-mail address as "[email protected]" instead of "gov.uk".

Colinton/Fairmilehead councillor Jason Rust said: "It does not look particularly professional when thousands of voters across the city are sent this and, given it is meant to assist those seeking help, it is not useful in the slightest.

"These elections will confirm who runs Holyrood and how we elect MPs to Westminster, but it would seem that we have not learned the lessons after the 2007 debacle when the machines failed and results were delayed."
