Post-mortem into baby boy's death

A POST-mortem examination will take place after a baby boy died, police said today.

The five-month-old was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock by ambulance but later died.

Paramedics were called to an address in Fullarton Street in Kilmarnock, where they found the youngster.

Police said they were currently treating the death as unexplained.

Detective Inspector Scott McClelland, from Strathclyde Police, said: "A five-month-old male child was discovered within a house in Fullarton Street, Kilmarnock around 8.25pm on Friday.

"A post-mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death. Police are treating the death as unexplained meantime."
