Portrait gallery is set for reopening

THE Scottish National Portrait Gallery is set to reopen to the public after a £17.6 million refurbishment.

The building, in Edinburgh’s Queen Street, will open its doors on 1 December after two years of work.

Opened in 1889 to display Scotland’s collection of national portraits, it is the world’s first purpose-built portrait gallery.
