Portobello is top web port

PORTOBELLO has won a top national community prize.

The area won the category of Best Website and was also commended for its achievements in work with older people in the overall Community Award in the Calor Scottish Community of the Year Awards 2005.

The winning website, www.porty.org.uk, was set up two years ago and has grown into a thriving community forum.

Website organiser Bob Jefferson, of Portobello Community Council, said: "We are absolutely over the moon that we have won this. I am particularly pleased for the local volunteers."
