Pop star fails to show for court

SIXTIES pop star PJ Proby failed to appear in court yesterday to face charges of cheating the benefits system of more than £47,000.

The singer faces nine charges spanning from November 2002 to March 2008.

Magistrates in Worcester adjourned the case against the 72-year-old singer until February.
