Pop online for a poppy

SERVICES charity Poppyscotland has come up with an innovative way for the public to show their support for veterans and their families in Scotland.

Edinburgh-based Poppy-scotland's virtual poppy, which was unveiled on Sunday to coincide with the first day of spring, allows supporters to "plant" a poppy online and leave a message of support for, or tribute to, members of the armed forces.

Three different landscapes have been created in which to plant poppies - a village, a lochside or a mountain top - and supporters can also choose from three poppy designs.
