Poll shows majority want death penalty

A MAJORITY of voters support the return of the death penalty, according to a new poll.

The Survation poll found 53 per cent in favour of capital punishment, with 34 per cent opposed. The issue has been revived by the launch of the UK government's e-petitions site, which has gathered almost 8,500 signatures for the return of the death penalty since last Thursday.
