Warning note from Alexander

Labour’s recovery in Scotland is “not inevitable”, shadow foreign secretary Douglas Alexander has warned, adding that the party must “change radically”. In his address to conference, Mr Alexander said Labour had to have the “courage to change”.

He told delegates that it “is only by embracing change that we can prove ourselves once again worthy of our nation’s trust”.

He said Labour needed to select its candidates differently and change the way it campaigns.
