Union chief's 'break from Labour' plea

RAIL union boss Bob Crow is preparing to address a rally in Scotland calling on unions to break from Labour.

The left-wing general secretary of the RMT will speak at the Scottish Socialist party meeting in Glasgow next Tuesday.

The RMT split from Labour in February after the party insisted that the union’s branches could not affiliate to the SSP.

Striking nursery nurses and civil servants will also speak out during the gathering at the Central Hotel in Glasgow Central Station.
