SNP urged to bring forward green plans

LABOUR'S Sarah Boyack has called on the SNP government to bring forward a "green new deal" after experts warned Scotland's climate change targets would be hard to meet.

The UK Committee on Climate Change said the commitment to reduce emissions by 42 per cent by 2020 and 80 per cent by 2050 was "feasible but difficult".

Ms Boyack said it was now time for the SNP to bring forward a credible plan to meet targets, including tax breaks for greener homes. She said: "Alex Salmond won't meet Scotland's commitment with more hot air."
