Sheridan 'ready for jail' over fine

TOMMY Sheridan has vowed to go to jail rather than pay a fine after being found guilty of breach of the peace.

The Scottish Socialist Party leader was fined 200 after his arrest during a peace blockade at Faslane in February last year.

The Glasgow MSP had taken part in a demonstration against nuclear weapons.

After his sentence at Helensburgh District Court yesterday, Mr Sheridan said he was prepared to go to jail rather than pay his fine.
