Scottish independence: 94k protesters want revote

ALMOST 94,000 people have signed a petition calling for a Scottish independence referendum revote, following a second rally in two days at the Scottish Parliament.

Around 3,000 pro-independence campaigners had gathered at Holyrood on Saturday for the ‘Voice of the People’ rally, where campaigners including SNP MSP Marco Biagi and Women for Independence member Kate Higgins urged the crowd to carry on with the campaign.

Ms Higgins had called on supporters to take the campaign into Scotland’s deprived communities, and to reach out to the older female generation who may have voted No.

Another campaigner encouraged those in attendance to sign the petition, hosted on change.org.

Sunday’s demonstration had largely been promoted through social media and dubbed the ‘Rally for a Revote’.

The petition calls for a ‘revote of the Scottish Referendum, counted by impartial international parties’, claiming that ‘countless evidence of fraud’ occurred during the referendum count.

Chief counting officer Mary Pitcaithly has already stated that she was satisfied all counts across Scotland had been properly conducted and scrutinised.

Pro-independence supporters are planning a third rally, also at the Scottish Parliament, for November 29th, dubbed the ‘45 Plus Rally’.
