Scot places £30,000 bet on UK remaining in EU

A Scot has placed a £30,000 bet on the UK remaining in the EU.

The bookies laid the five-figure remain wager to the customer at odds of 3/10, and the consequent support over the last 24 hours elsewhere has seen the price cut into just 1/4.

The customer stands to win just under £10,000 if the result goes their way.

However, Ladbrokes revealed the amount of individual bets for leave still outweigh those for remain.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The high roller bets are flying in thick and fast for the remain camp and the odds of Brexit are drifting like a barge.”
