MP expenses 2020: here’s how much politicians in Scotland claimed last year

But that’s not stopped them claiming thousands of pounds in expenses.

Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority figures for the 2020-21 financial year show MPs across the UK had claimed over £9 million as of January 6th.

The JPIMedia Data Unit has analysed the figures to find out how much has been claimed by members in Scotland

Below we have ranked the top five MPs biggest spenders – and you will be pleased to know there’s not a duck house in sight.

The SNP MP for Midlothian CC has spent £30,896.25 on 119 claims so far this year. Their biggest expense has been office costs, with £13,518.81 spent.
