MSPs query legality of minimum pricing plans

MSPs have written to Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon questioning the legality of minimum pricing plans for alcohol.

Christine Grahame, convener of the health committee, wrote: "The committee believes that it is reasonable to expect the Scottish Government to set out the basis for its belief that the policy will be legally compliant."

Jackie Baillie, Scottish Labour health spokeswoman, said: "This is yet another example of the SNP's incompetence. The committee is unable to produce its report because Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon has failed to provide them with basic information."
