MSP attacks fares increase

EDINBURGH Central SNP MSP Marco Biagi has hit out at increased rail fares.

Anytime-return fares from Edinburgh to Bristol and Edinburgh to Birmingham are due to rise by nearly 8.5 per cent.

Mr Biagi said: “It is extremely disappointing that travellers will face a huge hike in the price of their fares. If the UK Government continues to levy VAT and fuel duty at the current rate, then it makes travel more expensive for the public.”
