MPs ‘should relocate to Glasgow’ if House of Commons redevelopment gets green light

WESTMINSTER should relocate to Glasgow for five years, a Scottish Labour MP has suggested, if plans to redevelop the House of Commons go ahead.

Brian Donohoe has written to Speaker John Bercow to suggest that the City Chambers be used as a temporary home. His call comes as Commons authorities consider whether or not to back a £3 billion refurbishment.

Under initial proposals, MPs would continue to sit within the Westminster complex, in a temporary chamber.
