More teachers to join strike

ANOTHER teaching union has voted to strike over changes to public-sector pensions.

The Association of Teachers and Lecturers’ (ATL), which represents around 600 members in Scotland, said it would join a nationwide walk-out on 30 November. Dr Alastair MacPherson, ATL executive member for Scotand, said: “I applaud the stand taken by teachers and lecturers in Scotland to show the government that they cannot be bullied into accepting unfair cuts to their pensions.”
