Michelle Mone breaks foot after falling down manhole

Tory peer and bra tycoon Michelle Mone has broken her foot after falling down a manhole while out jogging.

The 44 year-old businesswoman posted a picture on Twitter of her resting at home with her foot in a protective boot up on a soft chair.

She said: “Home from hospital,thanks to the great team. Fell down a man hole yesterday & broken my foot. Biz as norm.”

Twitter followers wished her a speedy recovery but Lady Mone seemed upbeat and added: “It’s only a foot, people go through a lot worse. Business schedule won’t change.”

The painful injury appears to have happened near her Glasgow home following a night out with friends after she returned from a Caribbean holiday.

She tweeted the day before: “Landed... no time for jetlag... weekend with the girls... all 10 of us.”

Mone added emojis of a champagne bottle, a cocktail glass and a monkey covering its eyes.

She founded bra and underwear business Ultimo in 1996 but announced in August that she had left to concentrate on politics and other business interests.

The fitness fanatic claimed to have shed almost eight stone last April after eating clean, exercising regularly and ditching alcohol.
