Michelle Ferns: Glasgow councillor latest to move from SNP to Alba

A Glasgow SNP councillor is the latest to move to the Alba party.

Councillor for Shettleston, Michelle Ferns, announced that she was leaving the SNP in favour of Alba reports the Daily Record.

She joins, among others, Christopher McEleny, Caroline McAllister, Kenny MacAskill and Neale Hanvey in defecting to the party founded by Alex Salmond.

A Glasgow councillor is the latest to move to the Alba party.

The former First Minister announced the formations of a new, pro independence party on Friday.

The Scottish Parliament elections will be held on May 6 this year.
