Margo MacDonald calls for parliament window check

INDEPENDENT Lothians MSP Margo MacDonald today called for checks on all windows at the Scottish Parliament after a skylight fell from the fourth floor and shattered near the staff entrance.

No-one was hurt in the incident yesterday afternoon. But Ms MacDonald said: “This is potentially a very dangerous area because people are going backwards and forwards all the time. It is really worrying.

“Every single window needs to be checked, particularly those on the upper floors.”

The parliament said an investigation would take place.
