Len McCluskey blasts ‘despicable attacks’ on Unite
He insisted that there was “no case to answer” over Unite’s involvement in the selection of a candidate in the Falkirk West Labour Party.
Mr McCluskey denied Unite had attempted to manipulate the selection after the Labour Party’s internal report suggested signatures had been forged to help a candidate favoured by the union.

Hide AdHe went onto say that the threatened closure of the Grangemouth plant had been the fault of the owners Ineos, who he said had “brought the sight to a standstill” last month.
Mr McCluskey also defended Unite tactics such as protests outside the home of Ineos directors as “legitimate” and lawful.
“It’s a legitimate form of protest. It’s a silent protect” the union leader said, speaking on the BBC’s Sunday Politics today.
