Leaders target nuclear arms

SCOTTISH church leaders have launched a bid to put the question of nuclear weapons at the heart of the general election campaign.

The Right Reverend Bill Hewitt, Moderator of the Church of Scotland's General Assembly, was joined by representatives from the Roman Catholic Church, Quakers, United Free Church, United Reformed Church and Methodists as well as members of Scottish Clergy against Nuclear Armaments (SCANA) to unveil the initiative at Holyrood.

The initiative includes a specially produced postcard for churchgoers to send to candidates and MPs.
