Fox attacks Afghan move

SCOTTISH Socialist Party leader Colin Fox has condemned the decision to send an extra 1,000 soldiers to Afghanistan.

He said the troops should be diverted to help in Haiti instead.

The former Lothians MSP said: "Instead of sending another 1,000 Scots Guards to Afghanistan, where they are not wanted, I suggest Gordon Brown send them to Haiti where they are."

Mr Fox will address a meeting at Edinburgh University's William Robertson Building in George Square tomorrow at 7:30pm.
