First Minister Nicola Sturgeon posts picture of lockdown haircut

The politician added the hashtag #PrayforPeter as she took to the clippers.

Nicola Sturgeon has offered the nation a little light relief from the coronavirus lockdown by posting a picture of herself cutting her husband’s hair.

Underneath the image on Twitter she wrote: “Cutting my husband’s hair (what there is of it!) #AllInThisTogether #PrayforPeter #FirstBarber #StayHomeSaveLives.”

The post comes as social media is swamped with images of home haircuts as salons and barbers remain closed during the pandemic lockdown.

Ms Sturgeon is married to Peter Murrell, who is the SNP’s chief executive.
