Festival of Politics set for Holyrood
Talks on small countries and their influence and standing will be held alongside debates on the constitutional future of the nation.
Tricia Marwick, Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, said: “This is one of the most interesting times in our history, a time when questions about who we are as a nation and what the future holds make daily headlines.

“The Festival of Politics is where politics and people come together and I am delighted that once again the Scottish Parliament is supporting this exciting and intelligent addition to Edinburgh’s festivals season.”
Beginning on Friday August 23, events include a look at “cultural diplomacy” in overcoming conflict, the future of Europe and small nations, the economic and cultural issues linked to the independence debate, and an American perspective on Britain an Europe.
