David Cameron to resign after European Union referendum loss

DAVID Cameron has announced his resignation as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, following the referendum on EU membership.

The Leave campaign won by 52 per cent to 48 per cent, with a majority of 1,269,501.

It was reported that Mr Cameron was considering resignation as results began to suggest a victory for Leave.
