Council leader: charge dropped

A COUNCIL leader charged over an alleged assault has had the case against him dropped.

Derek Milligan, 52, leader of Midlothian Council, denied hitting another man outside Bonnyrigg Rose Football Club in July.

However, the Crown Office confirmed the case has been closed due to “insufficient evidence”.
