Coulson faces charges over Tommy Sheridan trial

FORMER News of the World editor Andy Coulson is to appear in court next month to face perjury charges over the trial of former Scottish Socialist MSP Tommy Sheridan.

Mr Coulson, a former top aide to Prime Minister David Cameron, has been indicted to appear at the High Court in Glasgow on 6 August.

Coulson was charged with perjury two years ago after being questioned in Glasgow in connection with his evidence during Sheridan’s trial in 2010.

Yesterday, a spokesman at 
the Crown Office said: “The Crown Office can confirm that an indictment was served on 
Andrew Coulson today, 7 July, 2014, and that a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 6 August, 2014, at the High Court at Glasgow.”
