Earlier this week Trump overturned United States policy by recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The move was met with widespread criticism and led to violence in the West Bank, as hundreds of Palestinian protesters clashed with Israeli troops.

Celtic supporters in the South Stand at Easter Road showed their displeasure with Trump’s actions, raising a pair of banners before kick-off.

They read: “Jerusalem is Palestine. F*** Trump.”
