Alcohol pricing row heads to court

The Scottish Government’s legislation on minimum alcohol pricing will be challenged in court next week.

An eight-day hearing is due to start on Tuesday at the Court of Session in Edinburgh, with the Scotch Whisky Association arguing that it breaches EU trade agreements and the Act of Union. Lord Doherty is expected to take some months before issuing a judgment.
