Advice sought on implants

HOLYROOD’S health committee is seeking fresh advice on the potential health risks of silicone gel breast implants following international concerns.

Convener and Labour MP Duncan McNeil called for more information from the regulator and Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon just weeks after MSPs closed a public petition on the issue.

The committee agreed last month there was little evidence of widespread problems but said they would re-visit the issue if new information came to light.
