Abuse claim MSP to return to Holyrood

THE MSP expelled from the SNP amid allegations of domestic abuse has said he will return to Holyrood this week, sit with the SNP and “cheer on” Alex Salmond at First Minister’s questions.

Bill Walker said he would attend parliament tomorrow and on Thursday, days after he strongly denied an allegation of rape made in a Sunday newspaper.

FIfe Police confirmed they were “making inquiries” over a range of allegations about the Dunfermline West MSP, who said he expected most MSPs to be “civil”. Mr Walker, who has said he is likely to appeal against his expulsion from the party, has also said he will go back to his office in the SNP block.

He said: “I’ll sit in my regular seat in the chamber, as well as going to my office on the SNP floor.”

But an SNP spokesperson said: “Mr Walker has been informed that as he has been expelled by the SNP, he cannot sit on the SNP’s benches.”
