80% fall in Somali pirate attacks

ATTACKS by Somali pirates have fallen by 80 per cent in the past year, the government has said.

There have been 35 attacks so far this year, compared with 176 in 2011, Foreign Office minister Alistair Burt told MPs. But he warned: “This positive trend is fragile and reversible.”
