Police warning over illegal ‘Area 51’ rave

Police in West Lothian have issued a warning to the public advising them not to attend an illegal rave planned for tomorrow in the West Lothian area.

Intelligence gathered from social media has indicated that the rave has been planned by an organisation calling itself “Area 51”, which has been inviting members of the public to the event.

Police are stressing this is an illegal event and that they will be in attendance. The event will not take place.

Inspector Andrew Elliot said: “This event is illegal and a threat to public safety. Police Scotland is fully aware of the plans and will be in attendance.”

“We strongly urge the public not to attend. If they do, they will have a wasted journey.”
