Police warning over armed robberies

Police are asking Edinburgh businesses and their customers to be vigilant for suspicious activity following a series of armed robberies.

Since June, six robberies have taken place in off-licences and bookmakers within the capital.

On each occasion a handgun was shown to staff before the suspect made off with sums of cash from the tills and safe, Lothian and Borders Police said.
