Police to probe 'sick image' of tragic girl

A DOCTORED photograph on a Facebook tribute page for a teenage girl who was shot dead is being investigated by police.

Grampian Police are probing the circumstances surrounding a sickening altered image of Sophie Taylor, which appeared on a website set up in her memory.

The altered picture, which has now been removed from the website, has been condemned by hundreds of people as "vile, sick and disgusting".

The funerals of Miss Taylor and her teenage boyfriend, who were killed in a double shooting tragedy in a remote highland glen are to be held over the Easter weekend.

Miss Taylor, a 16-year-old pupil at Speyside High School, died last Tuesday when she was accidentally shot by her boyfriend, Calum Murray, 18, before the trainee gamekeeper took his own life.

Grampian Police are still investigating the horrific deaths of the two teenagers at the isolated cottage where Mr Murray was staying, ten miles from the Moray village of Tomintoul.

The funeral service for Mr Murray? will be held on Saturday in Leochel Cushnie. A service "celebrating the life" of Miss Taylor will be held on Easter Monday at the Lecht Ski Centre.
