Police to investigate baby boy’s death 43 years on

Police have launched an investigation into the death of a six-week-old baby more than 40 years after he died.

Colin Blair died in a tenement flat in Dundee in 1968, despite the efforts of the ambulance workers and police officers who tried to save him.

The cause of death given at the time included bleeding within the skull, but was not viewed as suspicious.

Tayside Police have launched a new inquiry after receiving fresh information.

The incident will be re-investigated by the major crime review team. The investigation could lead to the exhumation of Colin’s body, which lies in an unmarked grave in a Dundee cemetery.
