Police still seeking mother

A POLICE inquiry to trace the mother of a baby found abandoned on a park bench in the Capital is continuing, detectives said.

The baby girl – named Charlotte after the policewoman who took her to hospital – was found wrapped in a blanket and left on a park bench in Hailesland Park, Wester Hailes, at around 1pm on Thursday.

Officers at Police Scotland today said the child’s mother had still not been found and issued a fresh appeal for her to come forward.

A spokeswoman said: “Inquiries into the whereabouts of the child’s mother are ongoing.”
