Police seek witnesses to fatal crash

POLICE have made a renewed appeal for witnesses to a road crash which killed a cyclist in Kirkliston to come forward.

They are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a red car believed to have stopped at the scene shortly after the incident.

"The driver of this vehicle may have witnessed the incident or have information relating to the circumstances prior to the collision and for that reason we would ask them to contact police immediately," said a spokesman.

"Unfortunately we do not have any further description of the vehicle, but if you drive a small red coloured car and were near Kirkliston Sports Centre around the time of the collision we would be keen to speak to you as soon as possible."

Kostas Tourlas, 37, died after colliding with a Fiat Ulysse while cycling with his girlfriend near Kirkliston Sports Centre on Saturday. A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with driving offences and has appeared in court.
